Special Education Teacher - Lewiston Day Treatment Program $1000 Sign on Bonus

The Spurwink Services Lewiston Day Treatment Program is seeking a full-time special education teacher for our middle school classroom to work with students with severe emotional, behavioral and developmental challenges.
$1000 sign on bonus
Many positions include sign on bonuses that are available to full-time newly hired staff. The first half of the sign on bonus ($500) will be paid after 90 days of full-time employment and the second half of the sign on bonus ($500) will be paid after six months of full time employment. If a new hire changes status to either part-time or per diem status during any of that time frame, they will forfeit the sign on bonus that is yet to be paid.
Spurwink teachers deliver individualized and small group curriculum in the context of a therapeutic classroom milieu. Duties include developing and implementing classroom programming, writing and implementing IEP goals and objectives, supervising classroom Educational Technicians, attending and reporting out at client meetings, and being part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
This position includes a seven week summer program with an experiential approach including a large working garden.
Maine State certification as a Teacher of Exceptional Students (282) as appropriate to the position and age level of students or eligibility for conditional certification as a special education teacher.
