Educational Technician III/SB-BHP - Cornville $1000 Sign on Bonus

Spurwink’s Cornville Day Treatment Program seeks an Educational Technician III/SB-BHP to support students who have a wide range of emotional, behavioral and developmental challenges. Spurwink’s Ed Tech IIIs are an integral part of the classroom, and should be passionate about delivering programming in collaboration with the classroom teacher. This full-time position includes the regular school year plus a 28-day summer program. Exact classroom placement depends upon skill and experience. Hired applicants are expected to participate in a two-week orientation in Spurwink’s training center in Portland, Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, and all relevant trainings necessary for certifications.
$1000 Sign on Bonus!
Many positions include sign on bonuses that are available to full-time newly hired staff. The first half of the sign on bonus ($500) will be paid after 90 days of full-time employment and the second half of the sign on bonus ($500) will be paid after six months of full time employment. If a new hire changes status to either part-time or per diem status during any of that timeframe, they will forfeit the sign on bonus that is yet to be paid.
Our Ed Tech IIIs/SB-BHPs have working knowledge of each client’s educational and clinical plans in order to provide a high level of consistency and assist with the delivery of educational programming and prescribed mental health interventions. Ed Tech IIIs make therapeutic relationships, perform short-term instruction and classroom management, conduct one-on-one or small group instruction, and complete daily data collection and documentation. They are expected to think critically, follow therapeutic crisis intervention guidelines, and work well within a team.
Educational Technician III/SB-BHPapplicants must provide documentation of at least 90 college credit hours and have or be eligible for Maine Department of Educational certification as anEd Tech III. A positive attitude, high energy level and the ability to think creatively as a member of a multidisciplinary team are essential!
