We are seeking CNA's to work at our children's residential facility on the Portland/Westbrook line.  This is a tremendous opportunity for the right person who wants more than just a job.  This position is best suited for individuals who crave a fast paced, dynamic environment and can embrace the learning opportunities offered in activity based programming.    

The starting wage for a CNA/Direct Care Worker is $15 per hour, with a full array of benefits. Shifts have been designed to accommodate and recognize the importance of a good work/life balance.  Training starts on day one, and never ends.

 

This position includes a $500 Sign On Bonus!

$250 paid after 3 month's of full time employment and $250 paid after 6 months of full time employment

 

 

Duties:

1.  Provides assistance with daily activities, monitors clients’ conditions and performs, physically and/or verbally assists with and/or monitors clients’ personal hygiene tasks according to individual cleint needs. Provides the appropriate level of supervision for clients in their care and adheres to the Individual Crisis and Behavior Management Plan.

2.  Demonstrate safe behavior and work to assure the safety of clients and peers. Observes clients’ physical conditions and reports changes and/or concerns to the Supervisor. Monitors bowel movements and reports changes and/or concerns to the Supervisor..

Qualifications:

Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate.

High school diploma or G.E.D.

As an employee of Spurwink, he/she is expected to adhere to the policies and procedures of Spurwink. He/she must keep client health care information confidential, and in all other ways comply with Spurwink’s policies and procedures implementing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (otherwise known as HIPAA). Due to the nature of the work, staff at Spurwink are required to be trained initially and annually in good health practices, communicable illnesses, and universal precaution procedures. The C.N.A./Residential Youth and Family Specialist may be asked at times to cover shifts in residences other than the one to which they are primarily assigned, and other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor. The C.N.A./Residential Youth and Family Specialist must maintain a current Maine driver’s license and a clean driving record in accordance with Spurwink’s driving policy, and may be required at times to transport clients.
