Spurwink Services seeks a full time clinical teacher, a special educator, to provide child-centered psycho-educational programming in a day treatment setting. Join a team which makes a real difference in the lives of its students.
As members of a multi-disciplinary team, Spurwink teachers are involved in delivering individualized and small group curriculum in the context of a therapeutic classroom milieu. This position includes a seven week summer program with an experiential approach including a large working garden.
Elementary and/or middle school experience, some knowledge of assessment strategies and skillful behavior management are a plus, but we provide training and supervision. All candidates must either possess a Maine State certification as a Teacher of Exceptional Students (282) or document eligibility for special needs, conditional or transitional certificate.
