Awake Night Direct Care Worker (RYFS)-Cornville, ME $13/hr
As we launch our newly remodeled and designed treatment center, we are looking for energetic and caring staff to join our team as awake night counselors. The awake night counselor position requires staff remain awake for the entirety of their shift. The starting pay for awake night counselors is $13/hour, and shifts have been designed to accommodate and recognize the importance of a good work/life balance.
The awake night counselors work as a team to meet the needs of the residents who receive treatment in the treatment setting. Awake night counselors are part of a multidisciplinary team, and are primarily responsible for ensuring the health and safety of residents throughout the night. They also support clients through their morning routine and help support resident's transition to the school day.
$500 Sign on Bonus!
Many positions include sign on bonuses that are available to full-time newly hired staff. The first half of the sign on bonus ($250) will be paid after 90 days of full-time employment and the second half of the sign on bonus ($250) will be paid after six months of full time employment. If a new hire changes status to either part-time or per diem status during any of that timeframe, they will forfeit the sign on bonus that is yet to be paid.
Develop relationships with clients who have emotional and behavioral disorders. Maintain safe and therapeutic environment and routines. Plan and lead group and individual activities aimed at helping clients achieve skills, creating opportunities for clients to succeed. Perform behavior management, therapeutic duties and crisis intervention, including restraints. Participate in reflective practice and supervision. Contribute to the management of the residence.
Awake Night Staff are responsible for maintaining the health and safety of the clients while attending to their needs throughout the night. Awake night staff assist the clients with their morning routine which may include hygiene, medication administration and preparation for the school day.
High school diploma or G.E.D. Prior experience and training in positions similar to that of the Residential Youth and Family Specialist or with children and their families faced with emotional and behavioral challenges. Direct Care Workers (Residential Youth and Family Specialist) must complete OQMHP licensure requirements within the first few months of employment, and must maintain it throughout his or her employment at Spurwink in this role. It is required that she / he will participate in designated in-service training programs and ongoing training is required. Basic computer skills are required.
