Grants & Marketing Specialist

Description:

The Grants & Marketing Specialist is an integral member of the Development team, working to make positive change for people with disabilities and mental health challenges. Grant funding and marketing are key drivers of agency growth, program enhancement and operating revenue. Reporting to the Director of Mission Impact, the Grants & Marketing Specialist is responsible for preparing and producing, in draft and final form, grant proposals and solicitations for funding from private foundations, corporate foundations and government sources. The Specialist develops solicitations and proposals for general operating needs, programs and growth opportunities; prepares progress and final reports to donors; and maintains department database and associated records. The Specialist also helps produce copy for Spurwink marketing collateral for programs as needed. 

Duties:

Prepare grant proposals for foundations, corporations, and state and federal agencies, in draft and final form that make compelling the need for financial support for behavioral health and education services and address identified organizational funding priorities.

Work with Director of Mission Impact and Spurwink teams to gather and assemble information and data on fundable projects for proposal development. Assist in facilitating internal, cross-departmental teams for collaborative RFP development.

Maintain an organization-wide grants deadline calendar and Raiser’s Edge database of foundation funders.

Prepare interim and final project reports to funding sources on a regular and scheduled basis working with the grant/contract workgroup, lead program staff, and other departments to assure timely and accurate reporting

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of two years professional grant writing experience. Previous experience with nonprofit fundraising and/or marketing and/or communications preferred. Experience writing proposals in response to large state and federal RFPs and institutional donors preferred. Experience working in deadline-driven environments. Successful track record of grant solicitations at local, state, federal and foundation level.
