Few jobs come along that offer up the opportunity to learn and then employ state of the art treatment for youth with mental illness. Spurwink is currently looking for a unit director for their newly renovated and designed unit, located in Auburn. The program provides a treatment intensive environment for children and adolescents with complex trauma, mental health diagnoses, and developmental disabilities. This setting serves thirteen (13) children/adolescents on a campus based setting. The unit director works as part of a treatment team made up of professionals with years of clinical experience to design and implement evidenced-based interventions. This fun and challenging job is best suited for individuals who crave a fast pace, dynamic environment.

Starting pay for the unit director is $17/hour. Shifts are designed to be flexible to promote a positive work/life balance. 

Duties:

Your typical responsibilities as a Unit Director will be administrative oversight of our community-based residential treatment unit under the Associate Program Director's supervision. Overseeing of day-to-day programmatic functions; and working collaboratively with the Program Director, clinical team, and education staff as part of an integrated administrative team providing oversight to the program. The unit director will be responsible for managing staffing and scheduling. Strong communication skills are necessary, and the unit director will have frequent contact with families, guardians and other treatment team members. The unit director will work to ensure all documentation is accurate and timely, and licensing expectations are met. The unit director will coach and train staff, and work to provide a positive milieu environment. Strong team and group management skills are essential, as part of the unit director's role includes leading meetings and activities based programs for both staff and residents. 

 

Qualifications:

Duties require knowledge equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years’ experience in a similar clinical setting and 2 years of administrative/supervisory experience required.
