Direct Care Worker (Residential Youth & Family Specialist)-Auburn, ME $13/hr
The starting wage for a Direct Care Worker (RYFS) is $13/hr., with a full array of benefits. This position also includes a $500 sign on bonus, $250 paid upon completion of orientation, $250 paid after 6 months of employment. Shifts have been designed to accommodate and recognize the importance of a good work/life balance. Training starts on day one, and never ends.

As we launch our newly re-modeled and designed 13–bed facility in Auburn, we are looking to build the team that will make the difference. The typical shifts for this position include every other Wednesday and every Thursday-Saturday starting at 1:45pm, working into the evening. The Saturday shift starts at 8:00am and goes into the evening.
Our RYFS staff work together as a team to meet the therapeutic needs of thirteen (13) clients in the treatment setting. Communication and collaboration is expected of all members of the treatment team.
Our RYFS staff will develop relationships with clients who have emotional and behavioral disorders. They will maintain safe and therapeutic environment and routines.
Our RYFS staff plan and lead group and individual activities aimed at helping clients achieve skills, creating opportunities for clients to succeed. They will also perform behavior management, therapeutic duties and crisis intervention, including restraints.
All team members will participate in reflective practice and supervision to contribute to the management of the residence.
High school diploma or G.E.D. Prior experience and training in positions similar to that of the Residential Youth and Family Specialist or with children and their families faced with emotional and behavioral challenges. Direct Care Workers (Residential Youth and Family Specialist) must complete OQMHP licensure requirements within the first few months of employment, and must maintain it throughout his or her employment at Spurwink in this role. It is required that she / he will participate in designated in-service training programs and ongoing training is required. Basic computer skills are required.
