Cultural Broker Trauma Systems Therapy for Refugees - Biddeford

This position will start on August 1, 2017.
Spurwink Services seeks a Cultural Broker to work in a federally funded grant initiative to provide Trauma Systems Therapy adapted for Refugees (TSTR) in Biddeford, Maine.
In this program Cultural Brokers with lived experience work in partnership with team members as cultural experts.
Comfort with home based family treatment in the refugee community and group work with children are essential.
The Cultural Broker will:
*Participate in TSTR training and consultation in the TSTR model.
*Participate in individual and group supervisions with the TSTR team.
*Co-facilitate skill building groups in the public schools.
*Assist with clinical intake and service delivery to assure that service recipients
understand informed consent and client rights and treatment planning.
*Assist the team in making cultural adaptations to provide culturally sensitive services.
*Adhere to documentation requirements as required by Spurwink and mental health
High School Diploma required; Bachelors Degree preferred. Linguistic and cultural experience in order to provide translation and cultural brokering is essential.
