Baxter Residential Youth & Family Specialist - Portland (Per Diem)

This position provides coverage as needed for Therapeutic House Couple, RYFS Worker and Awake Night Counselor. American Sign Language Fluent.
This position supports Spurwink’s community‐based residence for children who are deaf or hard of hearing and in need of attending Portland Public School Programming. The Per Diem Worker is tasked in conjunction with their team in providing a supportive and family like home environment to up to 8 residents. The person works closely with their team to promote deaf culture, support residents as needed in their homework assignments, to design and provide daily recreational opportunities, daily community participation, as well as opportunities to develop life skills as appropriate for each individual.
High school diploma or G.E.D and American Sign Language Fluent. Prior experience, education or training in Deaf Culture preferred.
Per Diem Worker must complete Orientation Training and is required that she / he will participate in designated in‐service training programs and complete on time ongoing on-line training. Basic computer skills are required.
