Direct Care Worker (Residential Youth & Family Specialist)-Portland, ME $13/hr
Looking for work in a challenging, yet fun environment? Direct Care (RYFS) Workers provide the opportunity to learn and then employ state of the art treatment for youth with mental illness. These positions offer opportunities to work closely with teams of professionals with years of clinical supervision to design and implement evidenced-based interventions.
This position is best suited for individuals who crave a fast paced, dynamic environment and can embrace the learning opportunities offered in activity based programming.
The starting wage for a Direct Care Worker (RYFS) is $13 per hour, with a full array of benefits. Shifts have been designed to accommodate and recognize the importance of a good work/life balance. Training starts on day one, and never ends.
Positions are currently open in the following locations:
Develop relationships with clients who have emotional and behavioral disorders. Maintain safe and therapeutic environment and routines. Plan and lead group and individual activities aimed at helping clients achieve skills, creating opportunities for clients to succeed. Perform behavior management, therapeutic duties and crisis intervention, including restraints. Participate in reflective practice and supervision. Contribute to the management of the residence.
High school diploma or G.E.D. Prior experience and training in positions similar to direct care work or with children and their families faced with emotional and behavioral challenges is preferred. She / he will participate in designated in-service training programs and ongoing training is required. Basic computer skills are required.
